Author Visit

We had a great author visit this year! I am so excited that everyone got to meet Jordan Sonnenblick, and the kids have told me how much they enjoyed hsi presentation. I can't thank the students and staff enough for making this such a wonderful experience!

Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick

I read the best book over the weekend...Wonderstruck, by Brian Selznick (the author of The Invention of Hugo Cabret).  I loved this book so much that I wanted to share it with you.  Below, I am putting the trailer of Mr. Selznick talking about creating the book, but I want to tell you my thoughts first.  This book mixes both text and pictures and the lives of two people living worlds apart.  I love the way Mr. Selznick takes all of the different elements and blends them so perfectly.  Pick up Wonderstruck at your favorite library and let me know what you thought!

Jordan Sonnenblick will be here January 24!

I am so excited that January 24 will be here soon...you know why, right?  Jordan Sonnenblick is coming!  As a school we have been trying to read his books to prepare for his visit, and I think it will be great to hear his speak.  If you haven't read at least one of the books below, I hope you make it your goal to do so before JANUARY 24.  Want more info about our visiting author?  Visit his website!

Lone Star Book Club Meets Tuesday

For all of you Lone Star Book Club (or Lunch Bunch) members, we are meeting Tuesday!  I am so excited because the new LS books are in and I am saving them for you!  Also, if you have ideas for our T-shirt, get those to Mrs. Chetty ASAP, so we can decide which we will choose at our meeting on Tuesday.
